Yes I said it. These trash cans are cute you will want to have one in every corner of your home - from the bedroom, to the bathroom, to the kitchen and just about any where you need to throw out garbage. You might even want to place them all over the house because of how stylish they look. But before you start doing that, there are some things to consider before buying a trash can:
Consider the size - The size of your room will determine what size of trash can you get. If you have a small space, getting a large size trash can won't give you enough floor space to move around. If you have a big space, a small trash can won't do the trick either. So it is best to consider how much space you have and measure/check the size of the trash can before purchasing.
The function of the room - Will you be placing your trash can in the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, an office? Consider the function and how much waste that will be produced from that room before buying one. Typically the kitchen produces more waste than any room in the house so a 12 to 16 gallon size should do.
Number of people - Believe it or not, the number of people you have living with you will definitely determine what size and type of trash can you should get. If it's just you, then you will probably be fine with a 7 to 10 gallon size can, and could basically get an open or closed lid if you're not producing much waster. But 2 to 4 or more people, then you should consider switching up to a 12 to 16 gallon or a 20 to 30 gallon size. That way, you won't be going out differently to throw out garbage. But - that doesn't mean you should have a stinky garbage sitting in your home for too long. It's best to clean them out as often as you can, and deodorize your home so there isn't a build up of bacteria and just for overall hygiene.
Style - when it comes to style, most people probably don't think of this but I'm thinking color, function (open or closed lid), and material. After considering all options above, style can either add or take away from your space - by choosing the wrong color trash can that stands out in an awkward way from the rest of your decor or feel of your room, or getting an open lid instead of a closed lid (if you have kids - you should definitely get a closed lid for those bomb diapers or invest in a diaper pail to trap odors), this could mess up the style of your room so be sure to choose wisely.
I will be showing some open lid options but like I mentioned, the closed lid options are more hygienic. And now after all the trash talk (haha - you follow?) click below and shop on Amazon for the one that suits your budget and overall function according to the factors above.
